Long time users and evangelizers of Mediawiki with our first post.

After much discussion our group decided to upgrade our original beloved wiki from V1.4 to V1.14. We have other V1.14 wikis and like the new features/extensions.

We had our hosting service follow the Mediawiki Upgrade directions including backups (using NavCat) of the db and files. It is running in a MySQL 4.1.18 environment.

Everything seemed to run fine in the upgrade. However, when we looked at our new V1.14 wiki the data had only loaded through 2005 (just a part of the history/archive file.) When our wiki admin re-ran the script he said the Upgrade.php routine loading the history/archive file is just quitting in the middle of loading with no error or successful run kind of notice.

The really big problem is that now we're getting the same problem with the V1.4 backup. Ouch. The restore routines are not running to completion.

Here's our admin's exact email
I believes the problem is that the history / archive is too large. When the update script was run, it quit during the update and didn't copy everything. It is also happening when I try to restore the DBs from backup.
We've read through other threads on upgrades, but none seem to focus on this issue. We'd be quite grateful for any ideas from our resident Mediawiki sages.
