Error when turning on Ajax search

I am getting a weird error when turning on the Ajax features. I am running 1.8.3 and using these in my LocalSettings.php file:

$wgUseAjax = true;

$wgAjaxSearch = true;

Then, when I try a search...on anything, I get this:

I should clarify that this only happens in Firefox. I get no response in IE. I have went through the same process for another wiki that I have and it works pretty well.

Do you have any other extensions installed or have you done any hacks to the core mediawiki files? If so, it may be that one of those extensions/hacks is incompatible with Ajax search. If not... it is likely that it is a bug with the Ajax search that has been fixed in a later version of MediaWiki.
